BIOGRAPHY //
Step inside Maria Rubinke’s world – a land of breathing nature and mysterious creatures, all connected to the same fairytale.
Since graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation, Department of Ceramics in Bornholm, Denmark in 2008, Rubinke has established a distinctive and highly recognizable sculptural practice.
Born i 1985 in a small village in Denmark, Maria grew up sensing a strong connection to the surrounding nature and it sparked an urge to create.
Her creations include multiple public sculptures, a 4 meter high bronze door leading into michelin star restaurant Alchemist, a co-lab with danish architect bureau BIG and her latest creation; a giant dandelion outside the University of Aarhus, Denmark.
Maria is known for being involved in every part of the journey – from her sketches to her shaping of the sculpture.
She believes in making an effort in all you do, and this is her northern star.
